How To Detox Without Dieting: Top Six Tips

Water fasts, juice fasts, or raw vegan eating have all become popular ways of detoxifying the body in recent years. These fads promise great results, but the prize comes with a price: you have to give up most food, solids, or eating altogether to earn that cleansed purified body and clear mind.

If you want sustainable results but you’re skeptical of starving yourself, here are the six best ways to detox your body without going to the extreme.


  1. Hydrate

Water is an essential part of any detox program. Start your day with a cup of hot lemon water and drink more water than you usually do throughout the day. Ideally, you should consume three or more liters of water every day during your detox. In addition to rehydrating your body and helping you get rid of toxins, water will give your hair and skin a noticeable boost of hydration. 

Use different water infusions to mix things up and avoid boredom while adding vitamins to your water. Cucumber slices, lemon juice, grapefruit slices, and mint leaves are all popular ingredients in water infusions.

Now, we’re not going to ask you to go completely raw vegan to reap the benefits of a detox, but there are four things you need to cut out during your detox: sugar, dairy, caffeine, and gluten. If you’re reluctant to give up on that daily cup of coffee you should know that research has found a 23 percent increase in liver detoxification capacity after a caffeine cleanse.
